21 Weeks

How far along? 21 weeks, 6 days

How big is baby? 10.5 inches,  12.7 onz,  The size of a butternut squash.

What is Baby doing this
week? Baby is gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nurtition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies have shown that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they’ve already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

Weight gain: So far 8 pounds, by this point one should have gained between 8-14lbs.

Belly: It’s there, I can still see my feet.

Maternity Clothes? Yes.

Stretch Marks? Not yet… done lots of reading on this. Although Im using a coco butter it all has to do with genetics, so since my mom didn’t get them with either my brother nor I, hopefully that gene will be passed down to me.

Sleep? No problems related to pregnancy, but the heat is making it hard.

Best moment this week? It’s not baby related but just getting to hang out in Vancouver. We went to deep cove and went for a hike, starting running again (7 weeks till the Sea Wheeze half marathon). My goal is to run 10kms buy the end of the month. So far I can run 3-5 with no problems.
Miss Anything? Summer drinks…

Movement? Yes, now its actually starting to feel like little kicks as opposed to waves like last week.

Food cravings? Anything cold, with all this heat, I’m trying to find ways to stay cool.

Food aversions? Nope, but I haven’t had any hummas lately to see if I like it again. Just not interested.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope, think that’s over with.

Exercise: Went for a hike this week, and did 3 runs, the longest was 6kms.

Gender? Not sure anymore.

Labor Signs? Nope

Belly Button- In or Out? In
Wedding Rings- On or Off? On

Mood? Feeling so good!!
Looking forward to: A whole week off next week. Im planning on doing lots of morning runs, and cleaning up the house- or more so organizing it.

Preparing for Baby by: Reading the Happiest Baby on the Block.

Happy Canada Day!!
