25 weeks

How far along? 25 weeks 5 days

How big is baby? 13.6 inches & 1.5 pounds. The size of a zucchini.

What is Baby doing this week? The babes spine is beginning to form its structures as the blood vessels of the lungs start developing. Some small blood vessels are starting to form beneath the baby’s skin. As these blood vessels begin to fill with blood, the baby’s skin will take on a pink appearance. Baby also now has fully formed fingerprints! It’s bones continue to harden, and its nostrils are starting to open.

Belly: Present.

Maternity Clothes? You betcha.

Stretch Marks? Not yet…

Sleep? Still no problems, so blessed!

Symptoms? Nothing this week, just tired. But it could be flipping back from night shifts.

Best moment this week? I’m not sure, Im working so much. There must be something. Getting the house clean?!?! Maybe that shouldn’t be a best moment. Oh, I know. We’re booking dates with our photographer to do our mat photos!! They’ll be happening early October.

Miss Anything? Buying normal cute summer clothes. I did however today get 9 shirts, a pair of jean shorts and a pair of jeans (all mat) clothes from a lady- and paid only $50!! The jeans themselves where $60 – Heidi Klum.. this was new to me that she makes mat clothes. They are very comfy tho.

Movement? Yup, lots of little kicks, and now (every now and then) you can see the baby kick.

Food cravings? Breakfast food!! I bought Eggos (I haven’t had them in years!) Hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and Cherrios.

Food aversions? Nothing new.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope

Have you started to show yet? Yes.

Gender? Unknown.

Labor Signs? Nope

Belly Button- In or Out? In

Wedding Rings- On or Off? On

Mood? Feeling good!

Exercise: Not too much this week, A) I’m working lots and had stuff that I had to do in the mornings. B) One of the doctors from the hospital (who I dearly love and think is amazing) told me that I should stop running and kind of scared me. So I didn’t want to do anything until I met up with my midwives (saw them yesterday evening). I have gotten the go ahead to run the half marathon. But by run, she’s only allowing me to do 10kms, and wants me to stay well hydrated and take electrolytes during the run and post. I’ll still jog after I’ve completed the 10kms, but I’ll be walking more. So my plan really hasn’t changed. Just gotta keep water on me. I was so relieved to hear that I could still run! When the doctor told me to stop running it really made me quite sad and disappointed  I had been working so hard on training. And of course I’ll listen to my body, if something just doesn’t feel right, I’ll listen.

Looking forward to: The Seawheeze next weekend! 9 days to go!

Preparing for Baby by:  Getting a root canal?!?!! Not sure if thats really preparing for baby. BUT, with this pregnancy abscess that I got, and the week of antibiotics that I took, and talking it over with the midwives it was best to get the abscess drained and get the root canal. So today, I was very brave (with the help of Ativan– also cleared by the midwives!!!!!) with an amazing Dentist and wonderful distractions (Grey’s Anatomy) I was able to get my procedure done. On a side and sad note, she could only get to one root, I have to go see a specialist and get him to do my other two roots on that tooth.

They emailed me my xray as they are going on vacation, and incase I needed to see anyone else that I wouldn’t have to have extra XRays. If you’re like me and have no idea what you’re looking at… so you can see that big shadow under the root of my one tooth. Thats a BIG abscess. And to the right of it are two little shadows, that would be a normal abscess.

This is me at home, mouth half frozen, still feeling funny from the Ativan.
Sending Brent a pic of me that I survived.
