28 Weeks

How far along? 28 weeks 6 days. I’m officially in my 3rd trimester!!
That means in the next 10-14 weeks we will meet our little one! My skin is also now starting to behave a little more- maybe now I’ll have that pregnancy glow.

How big is baby?  14.8 inches, approx 2.5 lbs – an iceberg lettuce

What is Baby doing this week? Babe is continuing to gain muscle, which means that each kick will now be stronger- and may keep me up at night. Babe can now blink, blink, can have the hiccups and has better breathing skills.

Weight Gain? 17lbs! Getting up there.

Belly: Present.

Maternity Clothes? You betcha.

Stretch Marks? Not yet…

Sleep? Still no problems.

Symptoms? Heart burn, although its not in my chest, its in the back of my throat. Goes away with some tums, but it really does make its appearance on night shifts.

Best moment this week? We bought some items for the baby’s corner “nursery”.  And I think we have finally picked a theme and colours!

Miss Anything? How easy it used to be to tie your shoes, you really take the little stuff for granted. Looks like I’m going to be looking for some clogs for work.

Movement? Lots of movement! In the evenings babe is moving around like no tomorrow.

Food cravings? Nothing this week.

Food aversions? Nothing new.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope

Have you started to show yet? Yes.

Gender? Unknown.

Labor Signs? Nope

Belly Button- In or Out? In – although now I’m thinking that I only have a few more weeks of it being an innie.

Wedding Rings- On or Off? On

Mood? Feeling good!

Exercise: Not too much this week- working lots, so walking to and from work, and then walking around the unit for 12hrs a day.

Looking forward to: Sleeping in!! We’re working sets of 4 on, 2 off. So Izzie is hanging out with the grandparents for a few weeks, which then allows us to sleep in in the mornings.

Preparing for Baby by: Starting to nest!
We bought some flannel fabric and I made some cloth diaper wipes. At first I was against them, thinking that it was really gross. But then when you realize the cost that comes with them and how much waste there is you really start to think about them. We’re still going to use the traditional/disposable ones for the first bit and then switch over to the cloth ones.

Here is a little comparison of myself over the last few weeks.
14 weeks, 19 weeks, and 28 weeks!
